Fringe – change your hairstyle!
Let’s start from your hair. The easiest way to change hairstyle – is cut the fringe. Fringe makes a big difference, especially if your hair is shoulders length and longer. Maybe you do not want to cut your hair off, but at the same time you are bored with hair you are having at the moment and looking for some changes? Before making a step and cutting the fringe, think what do you want to achieve?
- Do you want simply to look younger?
- Do you want to hide high forehead or receding hair line?
- Do you want to look more stylish?
- Do you want to look more sexy?
The truth is, most of the time the fringe gives younger looks, especially if the fringe is just above an eyebrow and shorter.
.
Be careful – do not go too short at the very first time
There are 2 most common types of fringe
- Side-swept fringe
- Block-blunt fringe
Side-swept fringe
When you are having your fringe done for the first time, try to keep the length a little bit bellow or exactly in line with eyebrows. You will need some time to get used to new looks and manage the fringe. Imagine if you cut short and only then notice that cowlicks in a front line are lifting your short fringe even more – you would go mad!!! Sometimes it even sticks out!
Of course, your stylist should notice and warn you about this in very beginning, before making final decision. The fringe cut might be unpredictable and my advice would be to start from longer fringe.
But if you never had any type of fringe, the safest way is to have a side-swept fringe. If you have long hair – it is nice to have side layers as well. Because side-swept fringe gradually will blend with the side layers and you will achieve more movement, more natural, nice look. It is very common and it does not matter how old are you – it will definitely look great. The other benefit is – you do not have to trim it every 2-3 weeks. Normally it stays in good condition for 4-6weeks. (Perfect, if you are busy woman).
Block-blunt fringe
That is very sharp and deep, stylish and sexy look. Of course, if that is your character and you want to emphasise it. This type of fringe looks cool, especially if your hair has colours like: blond, black, red or copper. It does not mean that it will look bad with your natural hair. It just looks more stylish and attractive with coloured hair. This type of fringe must be thick – you must cut a lot, almost from the top of the head. If you have thin hair – don’t be afraid to cut that much. You will get a new look and feeling – more hair than before.
Again, the best is to have consultation with your stylist. He/she should help you to choose what fringe type is the most suitable to you.
If you decided to go for block-blunt fringe, be aware – you will need to blow-dry and use a straighteners every single time after shampoo. Fringe trim – every 2-3 weeks.
Notice! Do not try to do this at home, it is not that easy as it seems.
How to style the fringe
- Wash – shampoo + conditioner
- Blow-dry, use oval brush if you want to get more natural look
- Even if you hair is naturally straight, still it looks better if you use straighteners. Particularly for blunt fringe.
- Use product – Heater Protector before blow-dry on wet hair.
- Do not use any wax or gel on DRY fringe, because it will be the first thing that will become very greasy during the day anyway.
- So the best thing to use is – light or medium shine hair spray.
To summarise – you should not be afraid to try different styles with the fringe.
